I'm a pretty mainline Protestant Christian, and I frequently run into things here in the Bible belt that make me cringe for the future of my religion. Emails like this are one of them - not the fact that the email exists, but that it keeps getting forwarded!

 

I gotta say, at least the rest of this bunch seems to have some level of brain, collective as well as otherwise. Since god gave us those brains, I figure that it's probably a good idea to go ahead and use it.

 

Lynette, I've always thought so, too. Part of my de-conversion came about when a pastor told me that I shouldn't be thinking so much. If God gave me this brain, he or she did it for a reason, and it probably wasn't to be a spacer for my ears.

Consider the logic:

1. God made everything, therefore he made you, brain and all
2. Your brain gets in the way of faith in God.
3. ... (Reductio ad absurdum.)

The fact that it's absurd doesn't seem to bother some. I'll probably get poked at for using Latin in a post, which won't do anything to clarify the matter, of course.
